Guadalupe recently joined our literacy program on July 18, 2019. She was in her second grade of primary school until her mother decided to take her out of school.
According to her mother, Guadalupe was verbally abused by her teacher and quite bullied by the other students for not knowing how to read or write. She was distraught each day over the prospect of going back to school. Her mother came to us desperately seeking help for her daughter. Our Director was happy to welcome Guadalupe into our school. She is still adapting to her new surroundings but shows great interest in learning. Little by little, we are confident that Guadalupe will gain trust in her teachers and fellow students and regain confidence in herself.
